KATE THE GREAT. We don't know too many people who didn't fall hard for pretty,feisty Katie Holmes on Dawson's Creek. Now that the creek has dried, we're betting Holmes will keep expanding her circle of admirers with interesting performances as she already has in unexpected movies like Wonder Boys, The Gift and the touchingly skewed Pieces of April. The upcoming First Daughter will show off Holmes' romantic-comedy side and could prove again that, once she lands the right show-case (let's all forget about Abandon,OK?), she could break out as a big movie star. Her decision to star opposite Chrisitan Bale and Michael Caine in the next Batman epic from Memento and Insomnia director Christopher Nolan sounds like a very smart move--- look what spiderman has done for Kirsten Dunst.
