Living under the harsh media spotlight? "Dawson's Creek" star KATIE HOLMES gets to do just that with her starring role in the new movie, 'First Daughter,' and ET is on the set! "It's really fun to play the first daughter," the 24-year-old actress tells ET. "There's so much intrigue that surrounds [that real-life role]." In 'First Daughter,' Katie plays the offspring of the president (played by MICHAEL KEATON) who goes off to college -- but insists that she not be followed around by the omnipresent Secret Service. The government agrees to her demands, but assigns a young agent (hunky newcomer MARC BLUCAS) to go undercover as a student in order to keep an eye on her. Romance blossoms between the two -- until Katie learns of her suitor's secret identity! "[The Secret Service] understand you like not many other people do. I can see where [a relationship could blossom]," says Katie. "These two characters make each other grow into individuals and challenge each other to think outside of the box. It causes her to look outside of herself, which I think is pretty normal for people in their first year of college -- to get a sense of that independence." In preparing for the 'First' role, Katie needed to look no further than recent headlines to get a perspective on what famous progeny must contend with on a daily basis. "I looked into the Bush girls, and Chelsea of course, and even PRINCE WILLIAM and HARRY and the whole idea that they're 'princesses' and princes -- and what that means to them, how it affects their lives. It's very interesting. There's a lot of pressure there. I do feel sorry for them in some ways. I can relate just a little bit with the attention and the lack of anonymity."
