CELEB INSIDER: Is Katie Holmes Getting Real? Is the Katie Holmes getting real as the daughter of a U.S. President in "First Daughter," which just launched production this week in L.A.? To hear her leading man, Marc Blucas, tell it, we're bound to see some resonance of real-life first daughters we've come to know in recent times in the film. Chelsea, the Bush twins, Amy Carter, Patti Reagan...? "Not any of them specifically, but just in certain shadings and instances," says Blucas. In the feature, being directed by Forest Whitaker, Holmes' character resists having those earphone-wearing men in suits -- the Secret Service -- following her around on her college campus. Dad - the President -- assures her he'll put a stop to it, and then turns around and has a young-looking agent assigned to her safety, going undercover as a student. Can you guess the rest? Yep, they fall in love, and then the truth comes out and...well, that's the idea. Blucas is already crazy about his leading lady, professionally speaking, of course. "Katie Holmes is just one of the sweetest, purest, kindest people you could ever meet. Her talent speaks for itself," he says. "She has an old-time presence and way about her. Her mannerisms are very classic to me." Blucas, who just came off "The Alamo," a film he says is all about historical accuracy, is enjoying the leeway of a romantic comedy he gets with "First Daughter." "This is all fantasy. I can make it up," he says. "It's a great opportunity for Forest and me to create a human being." Even so, Blucas does say he's been boning up on Secret Service job skills.
