From Yahoo News/AP Katie Holmes Awaiting 'Dawson' Word Wed Nov 13,12:15 PM ET LOS ANGELES (AP) - Life is going to change drastically for Katie Holmes if "Dawson's Creek" goes off the air as expected in May. Holmes is used to being busy the three-quarters of the year she films the series in Wilmington, N.C. All that stability will disappear if the series ends its run after six years. "It's going to be a whole different situation because I'm so used to having nine months of being busy and having stability," Holmes told reporters. "And having to try to fit stuff in. It's definitely going to be different to sit and wait for the phone to ring. And worry. And drive myself crazy." "Dawson's Creek" has chronicled the characters' passage from adolescence to young adulthood. Holmes said it'll be hard not spending every day with the cast she's been working with for so long. "It's weird to have grown up together and then have to say goodbye," she said of cast that includes James Van Der Beek (news) as Dawson. "It's going to be very strange. And to say goodbye to all of the characters and never be in that situation again — and never play these people again. It's going to be strange." The actress said it would be particularly difficult saying goodbye to her character on the WB show, Joey Potter. "It's gonna be hard," Holmes said. "I've grown up with this character. I've learned from this character. I enjoyed this character. This show represents such a huge part of my life, a growing part of my life." As for the expected series finale, Holmes hopes the writers don't disappoint. "It's very important to me that we finish the show in a way that does all the characters justice, does the fans justice," she said. "And feeling cleansed and happy and proud of the work.
