It looks like Garth from Dark Horizons caught a glimse of some early footage from "TSD" while attending a movie convention in Australia.

The first presentation up here was from ICON Film Distributors but no Mel Gibson in sight, just a bad mobile phone related joke. Much better though was the line-up, its going to be hard to top this as they showed rough footage and clips from a whole swag of movies which haven't had any footage released so far. Aside from the already in release trailer for "Rules of Attraction", there was as follows:
The Singing Detective: Some very early footage was shown from this adaptation of the BBC mini-series about a novelist with a skin condition who re-writes his first novel in his head with him as the star to try and keep his sanity. A shot of a non-audible Robert Downey Jr. covered in quite detailed skin excezma was shown, looks more refined but less 'grotesque' than Michael Gambon's makeup in the original. That was followed by a very noir-esque scene of Downey Jr. sans makeup in detective garb walking down a dark alley where a raven-haired Carla Gugino appears - only to be shot seconds later but an unknown gunman. There was also a shot of Downey Jr. with y-fronts half off and pumping into some woman whilst a kid watches on from the stairs above shaking his head. Everyone raves about the script, and so far it looks to live up to it (I worry some of the fantasy scenes may be over the top).
