Say Hi to our old friend, Katie Holmes everyone [cheers and applause] (Katie walks out and kisses Carson) Carson: How are you Katie? Katie: I'm excited, how are you? Carson: Nice to have you here. Katie: Thank you. It's great to be here Carson: Um, so how was your summer? Is that the time when you are not shooting DC when you have fun with friends or to be normal or shoot movies or other stuff? Katie: Well, kinda depends. This summer.. I had a great summer, I had the opportunity to do a movie and also the opportunity to hang out with some friends and my family and all that, so.... Carson: Cool Katie: It was great. I was up in Montreal and filmed a movie called "Abandon" and it was great. Carson: "Dawson's Creek" when it first came out you had such a following before the first aired - an incredibly strong relationship with your fans. I know over the summer - I don't know if you know about this - but if you go to the website, the characters sort of check in throughout the summer. How important is that relationship with your fans? Katie: It's very important, and obviously we appreciate so much the involvement of the fans. Obviously - I mean - they keep us going - us working - and it's so much fun and it's great to see all of you guys here and to know that you watch and that you relate to the characters, because, you know that's what we're doin' and we love doing that. Carson: Things will be very different this week when the show premieres. I don't want to get into it right now. Katie: Talk about angst (laughter from audience) Carson: We have to talk about that and work on your characters love life and have your guys opinion on that when we get back. More with Katie Holmes and.. (cheers and applause as they go to break) [During the break they show "audience cam" and also a shot of Katie, I believe, trying to dance ;) ] Carson: Welcome back to TRL for two hours. My guest, Katie Holmes from "Dawsons Creek." "Dawson's Creek" Premiere is Wednesday of the new season. Can I show your butt now? Katie: Yes (Katie turns around to show her butt) Carson: I'm digging the belt (Katie is wearing a belt with the word "America" in studs) [cheers and applause]. There is America. Very nice. Katie: It is important. Carson: Can't help but notice. It is Columbus Day too. Katie: The belt. Carson: Um, yes. Talk about the new season of DC. Things are dramatically different - Dawson in L.A. and Josh in a boat, God knows where and you are in Boston. How does this change shooting the show? I don't imagine you spend as much time with the boys and in High School? Katie: Right. We are spread out and have our own storylines. Like we all work 3 days then be off and I see Josh and James every couple of weeks. Carson: Is that weird? Katie: It is a little weird. I miss them. And then we- we come together and like have our episodes - and as the season goes on we kinda all come back together but we have a lot of great new people - we have Chad Michael Murry and Busy Phillips so I mean it is great. We are expanding Carson: Do you have say on the new people they bring on? Katie: Ha-Ha Carson: Do they ask the veteran characters? Katie: Yes!! No, not at all. Not at all. Carson: That wasn't written down. One of my hard-hitting questions I decided to ask. Thank you very much. Do you know what we are seeing..a clip from the new episode Wednesday Katie: A phone conversation between Joey and Dawson trying to have this long distance relationship and Dawson is kinda breaking Joey's heart for I don't know..the 12th..15th time. Carson: Take a look at our friend Katie Holmes in this weeks "Dawson's Creek. Roll it. They show a clip from this weeks episode (duh). J: Uh oh, not again. D: Huh? J: Oh nothing. What is it? D: Well uh, remember that internship I was telling you about? J: The director? You got it? D: I did. J: Dawson thats great, I'm so happy for you...That means you can't come for the weekend. D: I start today. J: Well that sucks. D: I know. I was kinda looking forward to seeing you. J: Kind of? D: You know what I mean. J: Well I was kinda looking forward to seeing you too. D: There's always next weekend? J: Which will probably turn into next month. D: Or next year. J: Before you know it, it will be a Christmans card every now and then, when your wife remembers D: Yeah we should probably just say goodbye forever right now. J: Yeah we might as well. D: Drama Queen :grin: --------------------------------- Carson: Smart ass. That conversation is bound to happen when your relationship is that far apart. We are in for a whole season of that aren't we? Katie: Exactly. Carson: You are in Boston. First year of college. What sorts of stuff will you deal with. Obviously not the couple of guys you are used to, but obviously, my God, there are guys all over. Katie: I have a new roommate. Carson: Do you get along on the show? Katie: She's the antithesis (ohh..same word she used on Regis lol) of Joey, wild with all the boyfriends and Joey is studying all the time and.. Carson: Maybe Joey will loosen up this season. Katie: I think so, we might see Joey have some fun. Maybe not so many tears (snerk) Carson: Safe to say, Joey never gets lonely on the show. You have a relationship in some way with Dawson and Pacey. We'll let a couple of fans come out here and try to force their love interest for the new season. It will make sense in a moment. Lets watch Michael Jackson..(cheers as they go to video) (cheers as they come back from video) Two fans then come out and each have 15 seconds to plead their case to Katie about why she should choose Pacey over Dawson, Dawson over Pacey, blah blah. (Sorry..I love you guys, but I'm not going to transcribe that lol). As they plead their case, Katie looks at them and nods..looking kinda scared lol Carson: (after they are done) 4 seconds to spare. Katie: How can I argue with that? Carson: We'll let the (audience decide?)..What do you think?...How did they do??..tough, right? Katie: (In a semi-mocking tone) I'm torn. I'm torn [laughter] Carson: I can see. we'll let everyone decide in a second. Lets get to Michael Jackson's latest.. (cheers from audience as video is introduced). They then show the "Tale of the Tape"..with stats of both Dawson and Pacey, etc. Carson: You have heard their plea. We took a quick vote and we'll put up the winners. This is from the audience vote. (Pacey beat Dawson 71 votes to 14) Carson: You know Katie, maybe if you can work - maybe that input into the writers or something Katie: I really appreciate the info. Carson: The quick poll at TRL was a landslide for Pacey. Thank you Ladies Katie: Wasn't Pacey just here?? Carson: Yea, but don't bring that up Katie: Sorry Carson: Wednesday night, we'll be watching at 8'oclock, the season premire of "Dawson's Creek." Thank you for stopping by.
