Thanks :) ------------------------ Regis: She's an adorable actress who's grown up right before our eyes. Going into her fifth season on the hit show "Dawson's Creek," here's Katie Holmes (Applause). Regis: Hi Katie, how are you baby? Katie: I'm good. How are you? Kelly: How are you? I'm good. Regis: (loudly) Katie Holmes is here from Toledo, Ohio! Katie: I went to finishing school when I was younger. I went to a modeling school. Regis: I think that's terrific. Every young girl.. Katie: It was great I was so young. They were teaching us how to do makeup and I was like I don't care. Then I got to back later and I really enjoyed it. The lady who is in charge.. Regis: Your teacher..She came to join us. What's her name? (they point to audience) Katie: Margaret O'Brien (There is a shot of Katie's mom and Margaret O'brien in the audience) Regis: Where are you? is that your mom next to her? Katie: That's my mom. Regis: How are you doing Mrs. Holmes? Margaret O'Brien: Yes we are. Regis: (now touching and talking about co-host Kelly): Can you take one more student? Margaret O'Brien: No. I think she could teach us. Kelly: I'm not a lost cause, Right? Margaret O'Brien: No, you're beautiful. Regis: Did a nice job with Katie. (To Katie) Tell us about your family. Katie: I'm the youngest of five. Now I'm an aunt of three. Three little boys. Regis: Everyone's growing up. Katie: I know. Quite exciting. Kelly: Three boys? You need a girl. Katie: I was holding your little daughter and I was like - the boys are wonderful too, but she's so cute. Regis: Let's get down to something that's really important (laughter). Katie: No. Regis: Because in the beginning everyone was in High School. Are you in college now? Katie: We're in college. Regis: Good. OK. Is this your first year in college? Katie: Yes. We're all freshman. Regis: What are the traumas of college life? Katie: Well, Joey is in Boston and Dawson is in Los Angeles Kelly: Dawson moved far away. Regis: What happened to the creek? Katie: I know!! Regis: The creek was the main thing Katie: We're having a hard time. Regis: I tuned in only to see that creek. And the guy's in Los Angeles? Kelly: So the relationship is in jeopardy? You know these long distance relationships never work out Regis: What is he doing in L.A. ? Katie: He's waiting to get on a flight to see me. Regis: You're going to an eastern college? Katie: Yes Regis: When we come back, we'll tell you more about this in a moment. (commercials) Regis: Katie Holmes from Dawson's Creek. Incidentally, to get on the show, she made an audition tape in the basement in her home in Ohio. Katie: I was doing our High School music and I couldn't fly out to Los Angeles and we put it on tape. My mom was Dawson and sent it in. Regis: And you got the show on the basis of that? Katie: Yea Kelly: Do you know how remote the chances of that happening actually? I can't believe it. Your luck is amazing. And your talent. Katie: Your mom's talent. Kelly: And your mom's talent. I think that's what's happened. Regis: So now that you're in Boston going to college up there, and Dawson, himself, is in Los Angeles trying to get back to you. The plot has moved. They left the creek behind. Kelly: I think Joey is going to fall in love with someone else. Regis: What's the main problem for you in college? Katie: Just adjusting of course, and Joey is taking too many classes and she has a new roommate and she is the antithesis of Joey and always having some boys in the rooms. Regis: This clip from Dawson's Creek (They show clip of Joey and her new roommate [Busy Phillips] in their dorm room arguing over stuff) Regis: You got a lot of problems ahead of you. Kelly: You need a new roommate. Katie: I know. {End} |
