Thanks sizzlinstar4! TomKat’s involvement in the “upcoming” David Beckham project/biopic has been denied by their rep. TomKat Quashes Posh Talk With rumors of an impending wedding sprouting faster than Suri's shaggy coif, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes continue to spend oodles of quantity time together. Over the last few days, the image-burnishing lovebirds have snuggled up at their favorite photo op spot and enjoyed a jaunt to Las Vegas. But are they looking to take their joined-at-the-hip status to the big screen? Here's the latest on all things TomKat ... Let's start with those movie rumblings, which began after a British tabloid claimed Katie, whose career has been on hold since finding twoo luv, plans to play pal Victoria Beckham in a biopic about her soccer star hubby, David Beckham, with Cruise likely producing. "Tom has a brilliant grasp of what the public want to see and thought David's story was wonderful," a mole who has apparently been stuck in a cave -- on Mars -- for the last 17 months is quoted as telling the Daily Star. And even though the once again slimline Holmes would have to drop major poundage and pack on a cup size or four to essay the pinched but perky Posh Spice, that doesn't stop the source from gushing, "Katie is perfect to play the young Posh and is working on her accent." The Beckhams, you'll recall, have spoken out in recent weeks about their closeness with the conspiracy-surrounded couple, with Victoria enthusing that Holmes is "one of the most down-to-earth celebrities I've ever met," and David saying admiringly of the embattled Cruise, "He's a great example of someone who stays positive through everything." Fortunately, you can quit fretting over the unnerving prospect of Katie belting out ironic lyrics such as, "If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends." Cruise's rep assures MSN Entertainment, "That story is not true." Meanwhile, nothing brings out the shiny toothed twosome's touchy-feely side quite like a weekend sporting event. On Saturday, they did that PDA thing they do so well as they cheered on Cruise's son Connor, 10, during his football game in Pasadena, Calif. Tom, still sporting his Ringo-esque bangs, and Katie, bundled up against the balmy California weather in a black turtleneck and boots, held hands and locked lips as they camped out on the bleachers. As usual, 5-month-old Suri was a no-show, although Tom's other daughter, 13-year-old Isabella, was there. The night before, Cruise jetted Holmes, Isabella and Connor, along with several other family members (no word on whether Suri was along for the ride), to Sin City to catch a performance of Cirque du Soleil's Beatles-based "LOVE" show, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The occasion was the 70th birthday of Tom's ever-present mom, Mary Lee, who was reportedly treated to a backstage, postperformance chorus of "Happy Birthday" from the bendy cast and crew. The paper says Cruise and Holmes also yukked it up at Jay Leno's show at the Mirage and then tried their luck at cards, reserving a private salon at the hotel's casino to play a little blackjack. And in a final bit of TomKat news, Annie Leibovitz is sharing details of her struggles to capture the best side of the mysterious Suri for her much-dissected debut in Vanity Fair. "It's very hard when the baby is that small," the famed shutterbug tells Newsweek of the two weeks (!) she spent shooting the hirsute tot. "It's being held by the parents all the time. It's not really connecting to anything else." |
