Thanks to Wind for posting this on the mb :) HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - Director Ed Zwick has fallen out of "Abandoned" at Paramount Pictures. Although he is still attached to produce the Katie Holmes psychological thriller, reasons for his exit from the director's chair remained unclear. Zwick recently teamed with "Gladiator" scribe John Logan to develop an epic samurai drama for Warner Bros. Pictures. Slated for a March 1 start, "Abandoned" could now shape up as the directorial debut for Stephen Gaghan, who also penned the script. Gaghan and Zwick recently teamed on "Traffic," which Gaghan wrote and Zwick produced. "Abandoned" revolves around a woman troubled by visions of her ex-lover, who suddenly vanished during her freshman year -- as well as by implications that she may have had something to do with another, similar disappearance. Zwick's last feature directing effort was 1998's "The Siege." Other credits include "Legends of the Fall" and "Courage Under Fire." Reuters/Variety |
