Thanks to the folks over at the SHH boards for the heads-up that Ebert & Roeper will be reviewing Batman Begins on their program this coming weekend. To find the time and channel that Ebert & Roeper airs in your area, click the link below: A scan of Katie at the Tokyo premiere of Batman Begins from today's (06/01) NY Daily News More TomKat from columnist Liz Smith: ..TINA BROWN'S "Topic A" chat-show ended the other night. And it was the usual class act, class chat. That is until the round-table discussion. Subject: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes and whether their romance is for real. Yes, there's been a lot of talk about this, and Tina wrote an amusing column on the matter. But it got lost in TV translation. To see five adults hash over Tom's love life as if it mattered was an embarrassment. Only reporter Nancy Collins seemed to think the relationship is genuine. Author and cultural observer Touré talked about Cruise as if the actor hasn't already been married twice and hasn't had a number of relationships out of wedlock. The words "lie" and "fraud" were thrown around as if Cruise and Holmes are guilty of stealing money from tsunami victims. Watching this, even people with doubts about the intensity of the romantic relationship, might find themselves on the side of the media-infested couple. Tom's appearance on Oprah was so extreme as to lead me to believe that he is, at least, besotted at the moment. Listen, he's promoting "War of the Worlds" not "Romeo and Juliet." If he wanted publicity for his movie, he'd be better off revealing himself as an alien! The vituperative talking head phenomenon of cable TV is just one more reason celebrities with good sense guard their words and approach with caution... Just a reminder..vote for Katie at EW's "Must List Poll." You don't have to vote in the other polls..just the one Katie is in :) Question 11: Who's the Must damsel-in-distress? |
