I'm not sure how all the Tom Cruise craziness will effect this, but I'm surmising from this NY Times article that Katie is scheduled to attend the "Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art" gala to be held in NYC on Monday (05/02): FRONT ROW Chanel Just Says No By ERIC WILSON Published: April 28, 2005 WHEN it comes to dressing for the Party of the Year - that would be Monday night's gala for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art - there are two schools of thought among the well-heeled women who plan to attend. .....Those who are expected to wear Chanel dresses are the actresses Nicole Kidman and Selma Blair; the model Gemma Kidd; and the social figures Ivanka Trump, Lisa Airan, Lauren Davis and Helen Schifter. At least one guest, the designer Tory Burch, said she had paid to wear Chanel, having acquired a 1970's polka-dot dress at Lily et Cie in Los Angeles. Yet another group of guests are being dressed by the fashion houses that invited them to attend: Naomi Watts and Claire Danes in Calvin Klein, Gisele Bundchen in Dolce & Gabbana, and Katie Holmes in Carolina Herrera. Mark Badgley and James Mischka have been working extra hours to create dresses for their clients, Arriana Boardman and Cornelia Guest. The designers said the dresses are so intricate that they will be working until the last minute. As Mr. Badgley noted, "It's the one New York party where it's really not possible to be overdressed."
